Very positive ROI from Strategic Optimisation in the UK
It’s fantastic to see the results of the Domiciliary Care Workforce Programme being published. This was Optimisation with a capital ‘O’ using AI Dimension Oy R2

Using traditional tools the planning process is essentially manual and coordinators spend huge amounts of time producing a plan and then trying to update it to account for changes. Because of the time taken coordinators are usually forced settle for the first plan they produce and are unable to evaluate the vast number of potentially better alternatives.
Travelling is typically reduced by at least 10%, and in some cases as much as 40%. This translates into direct cost savings.
Create efficient schedules in minutes or seconds, freeing coordinators to spend more time with clients. Add or update care packages, then update and refine schedules automatically.
Schedules include sufficient time for travelling and the actual visits. This reduces rush and stress on staff and improves quality.
Everything we do is irrelevant without satisfied customers. So we wanted to let them do the talking – how they managed to make better quality with lower costs. Just by using our smart planning tools.
"The carers are pleased with the routes. The "same carer taking care of same client within same shift" percentage, which describes the quality of the service, is clearly the highest in the entire city."

"We had a question to resolve. How to plan for the future and to meet the growing home care service needs with the existing resources? In order to change the home care structures, good arguments are required as well as the active participation of the staff to carry out the change. With R2 optimiser we were able to view various options in support of work organisation and planning, which were calculated directly from the care and service plans for our customers. It was easy to select from them an optimal team size as well as work hours in order to balance the peaks. This also made it possible to allocate the skills of workers purposefully. Our objective is to contribute to the welfare of employees. Employees themselves proposed reduction in the number of teams and increase in their size. We made a transference from three teams into two, and at the same time were able to change the staff structure to match the customer needs.”
