AI Dimension wins public procurement for AI-powered home hospital planning system

AI Dimension has been selected to provide the home hospital operational management system for Finland’s North Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county, Pohde. The decision was made through a public procurement process, in which AI Dimension’s solution was assessed as the best on both quality and price criteria.

Pohde is one of the largest wellbeing services counties in Finland, covering a population of approximately 418,000 inhabitants.

The procurement was evaluated on the basis of overall economic value, with commercial factors weighted at 60% and quality factors at 40%. AI Dimension ranked highest in both areas. In the quality comparison, based on a system demonstration and scoring against the requirements specification, AI Dimension’s solution stood out, achieving more than 7% higher quality points than the next-ranked bid.

AI Dimension’s Customer Director, Riku Hämeenniemi, says the win reflects a more advanced overall solution than those offered by competitors.

“Although we clearly won the comparison on both price and quality points, the key factor behind our success is the combination of real-time operational management with AI-based route optimisation.

This genuinely improves the quality of care for patients and the quality of working life for practitioners. We don’t just offer traditional software, but an intelligent solution that addresses the complex operational challenges of home hospital care.”

Savings while protecting nature and resources

The efficiency brought by AI Dimension’s technology is not only visible in smoother day-to-day operations; it also supports sustainability. The company’s capability can be used through an open interface in any operational management system, making it highly scalable.

Hämeenniemi notes that AI Dimension’s innovation saves natural resources in two concrete ways: it reduces unnecessary movement and travel by care staff in the field, and it significantly reduces the load placed on server processors during computation.

“AI applications are normally very processor-intensive, but our patented solution goes against the grain in this respect.”

The procurement decision by Pohde shows that the health and social care sector needs intelligent, resource-wise technology solutions that support human-centred care work.
